Celibacy Noun: celibacy 1. The state of abstaining from marriage and sexual relations Synonyms: chastity, virginity, maidenhood, maidenhead, abstinence, self-denial, self-restraint, abnegation, asceticism
When I published https://aussiebutterfly.com/2016/03/22/choosing-celibacy/ I was still very much in the early days of ‘committing’ to celibacy. I hadn’t actually been sexually active for sometime leading up to that point but I hadn’t actively chosen to be celibate.
I received some amazing feedback so I guess that will be one subject line that continues to feature in my blog. Celibacy is not what most of my followers probably want to read about but stick with me cause I have a feeling that I am going to discover a lot more about myself as the journey goes on!
So celibacy. What is celibacy? While I don’t particular like the dictionary definition of celibacy above so I have decided that to me celibacy means that I am ‘abstaining from using my sexual energy without respect and care for its power’ rather than just ‘abstaining from marriage and sexual relations’.
I have committed completely to being consciously celibate and what that means for me is that I am allowing myself to be nurturing, loving and sexually committed to myself! I am a very sexual person after all but it is in the way that I am going to be using my sexual power that is different now.
Over the coming months I have a plethora of things I want to achieve. Lots more writing, 3 courses to finish, 5 or 6 more countries to visit, training for the Blackall 100 (a 100km ultra marathon) and getting into the pointy end of launching my own business and developing a portfolio career! I don’t have time for casual sexual encounters or relationships that are taxing!
This decision, while taking a few weeks to really come to terms with, has been a positive and healthy step forward in my life.
I have begun researching sexual energy transmutation so no doubt the more I learn, the more you will too!!! Stay tuned!
Do you have any knowledge of sexual energy transmutation? Please share if you do, I would love to learn more!
