After meeting the gorgeous Nicole at Bahay Kalipay we traveled together to Banaue and Sagada. I was hesitant to go there because of the touristy element to them but wait to you see the pictures!
Seriously though my photos do not do the area justice. The rice terraces were STUNNING! I now sort of wish I had spent more time there but was not to be the case.
We hiked the terraces, underground river caves, eat lots of food, wrote, drew and painted (Nicole did I watched her!) and laughed. We got hangry at times and I got shitty at drug or alcohol fueled staff at one place, we had a hungover guide in another but most of all we had a magical time and got to wear jackets cause in the mountains it’s cold! Yippy!
Nursery rice terraces – all the super green spots are baby rice! So cute!
Wow!!! So steep and so many terraces!
Perhaps my favourite photo – Especially cause Nicole had to almost stand in a muddy rice terrace to take it!
I want a nap too flea infested mutt!
Oh so worth the hike!
This picture hides just how freezing and difficult it was to stand on the slippery rocks!
Lots of nudity!
So hiking down that was cool NOW we have to go back up!!
I am now back in Manila till the 31 Mar catching up on studies but I am so grateful I went to Banaue and Sagada. Thank you Nicole! Honestly if you come to the Philippines and you do not head here then you are truly missing out. I could have spent days in Sagada and hiked mountains and watched sunsets over lakes… Maybe one day I will!
Have you been to Banaue and Sagada? Tell me your experiences!
NOTE: I have called both dog pics (yes of handstands and dogs – totally predictable with me!) flea infested mutts because sadly they were. I have never seen dogs so infested than I did at Badat Rice Terraces! Because most of the area is dirt it would be almost impossible to get rid of them. Breaks my heart to see them crawling on the dogs!
