With only 4 weeks left to go and my 12WBT having been hit with illness twice one minor one not so minor, increased work loads and a holiday I feel like I am not really achieving any of my goals that I initially gave myself. This week I am going to start training again and I know my own personality – I want to go all out but realistically after a week of throwing up everything I ate or drank and a subsequent few days of recovery I am finally physically feeling better but I am back at the semi-start again.
This week I am going to be much more gentle and no fat blasting mega cardio workouts.
|Sunday||20 min Vinyasa Flow Yoga|
|Monday||2 km walk|
|Tuesday||30 min Pilates|
|Wednesday||10 min Xtrainer, 1 km run, 10 min bike|
|Thursday||20 min Zumba Fitness Express|
I’m looking forward to doing more pilates and yoga this week and if I am feel stronger towards the end of the week I will add a yoga/pilates session on Friday.
I have enjoyed eating for the last three days without fear of being ill so I was eating ice-cream, fries and drinking soft drinks. I do not feel bad about this in the slightest. After a week of no food or drink I was not going to deny my body exactly what it wanted.
Though the one thing that surprises me is the amount of red meat I am eating these days. This may not seem like a big deal to any meat eater but for many years stopped eating red meat unless someone else cooked it for me. I would be sick at the smell of cooking red meat. Coming from a farming family that has either had dairy or beef cattle for many years this was a slight departure from the norm.
I have no idea where my sensitivity to red meat came from because I loved it and being a non red meat eater resulted in more than a few raised eyebrows. Now however I semi-willingly cook and eat red meat, I still prefer to have someone else cook it for me but I eat a lot more than previous years. My freezer these days has steak and lamb along with pork and my still very much favourite chicken!
I’m looking forward to the week ahead! With renewed health and a little more breathing space at work and fours days off for Easter at the end of the week it’s looking very good. I know life will throw curve balls my way but I am more than happy to receive them now I am not so sick. Hope you too are ready for curve balls because they are what help you grow and develop!
