A traveling dog named Mutt……

Mutt and I at the top of the Burj Khalifa

In 2006 I was in the military about to deploy to Iraq and didn’t want to leave my dogs Bruce and Jenna so I brought Mutt.  He was a cute little stuffed toy that I saw in the post office four days before I deployed.  Well Mutt nearly needs his own passport now.

Although I don’t have photos of every country he has been too the list is impressive:

  • Afghanistan
  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Bulgaria
  • Egypt
  • France
  • Germany
  • Great Britain
  • Iraq
  • Italy
  • Jordan
  • Kuwait
  • Nepal
  • Netherlands
  • Serbia
  • Switzerland
  • Syria
  • United Arab Emirates

Mutts adventures have included nearly being stolen by a monkey in Nepal, a cat in Syria trying to rip his head off and climbing Mt Sinai in Egypt.   It wasn’t till after I went to Afghanistan that Mutts adventures really took off, I think this has something to do with Facebook.  The tour though Europe he spent most of the time in my luggage but as Facebook came into my life it was much easier to keep everyone updated on my travels.  You see before I went to Afghanistan it was the stories of my real dogs that mattered more but because they couldn’t travel with me it was a way of including them.

Hello kitty!

Mutt now is an integral part of my traveling.  I consider where I am going and how cool a photo of him on top of something might be.  Snow in Bulgaria or prayer flags in Nepal or even at the top of the Burj Khalifa.   Though Mutt is starting to get a little worse for wear.  His stuffing from being squished in carry on luggage is now starting to thin out.  He will be getting a make over soon but I am worried they will over stuff him or heaven forbid make him not look like him!!

Our next holiday is only a few days away and I am excited that he and I will be traveling by train something we are yet to do yet! Life
is an adventure, live it!
