Reasons why you can’t do something are just excuses to either live in the past, the future or anything but the present. For years I wanted to do a blog and I haven’t because of a number of reasons: I don’t want to seem egotistical; I don’t know how to use the blogs properly; what if no one reads my blog (likely this first blog post won’t be read by anyone but family); what if someone reads my blog and tells the world something about me that is not very nice…..but the point is I have put off putting out my own blog for too many reasons but never a decent one. All the reasons in the world have been excuses not to do something I should have done a long time ago.
So NOW is the perfect time to post it and then take the courage to put my blog address on my Facebook. Last look I have 547 friends on there so I am extremely confident that my blog will not go un-noticed forever. In saying that, let me clear the air straight up: I am doing this blog as I want the world and women of the world to know that you can live life on your terms. It doesn’t have to be a conventional life, nor an outlandish crazy life, just life on your terms.
A little over six years ago my life took a different direction. I changed just about everything about my life and it was extremely difficult and at times the road has been rocky. But in six years I have gone from soldier, university student, to a contractor in Afghanistan and now to working in Dubai; travelling like a bit of gypsy whenever I can since arriving in Dubai. If you had asked me 7 years ago what I thought I would be doing today it wouldn’t be sitting in my 34th floor company supplied apartment fiendishly tapping away on a laptop so I can post my first blog. What did I think I would be doing? Truthfully I can’t remember for the life of me…. clearly it wasn’t meant to be.
I am not going to limit myself to one topic as anyone who knows me will know I am random and regularly have 3 or 4 books on the go at any one time the likelihood I could ever keep this to one topic would be near on impossible. Topics will range from spirituality, fitness, food, rocks, travel, and the three L’s love, life and laughter! So if I get a little self-helpy on you so be it but my mission here is to share with you what I have learnt about the journey of life.
So welcome aboard my train to seeing the world and living with passion! Lets have some fun!
